HANKERTON PARISH COUNCIL

Hankerton is a small village 3 miles north-east of Malmesbury in North Wiltshire.  In the parish, which stretches away eastwards (and a little bit westwards) from the village, there are about 225 electors in about 115 properties.  A map is below.

Hankerton Parish Council meets every two months from January, usually on the first Monday of the month (unless Bank Holidays intervene) at 7.30pm in the North Aisle community area in Hankerton Church.

Meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend. The public can raise items directly at the meeting under Item 2, 'Public Questions’. No prior notification needs to be given.

Meetings in 2025:  6 January, 3 March, 19 May, 7 July, 1 September, 3 November.

The 2025 Annual Village Meeting will be on 12 May.

There are 7 seats on the council.  The current members were elected in May 2021 or co-opted when vacancies arose since then.  The next election is due in May 2025.  The Cllrs are:

Jacqui Erskine-Crum (Chair)
Dai Davies (Deputy Chairman)
Jonathan Allmark
Richard Barrow
Denis DeSouza
Malcolm Gerald
Kate Nurden

Occasionally vacancies arise and these are announced on the Parish noticeboard. There will not be an election to fill the vacancy unless 10 (or more) electors tell Wiltshire Council that they want one within a timescale laid down at the time.  If there is not an election then the vacancy will be filled by co-option – this means the current Parish Council will appoint someone. The Parish Council will of course wish to find a volunteer.

Michael Bromley Gardner is the Parish Clerk.  Contact details at the Contact tab.

Parish Councillors are required to register their interests.  These are public and can be found at https://services.wiltshire.gov.uk/TownAndParish/ROI/Council/717
